The Mayor of London Boris Johnson will unveil the capital's gift to Prince William and Kate Middleton as hundreds of thousands of revellers celebrate the Royal wedding across the city.
With Londoners and visitors gathering to line the streets, host street parties or watch on big screens, the Mayor will take to the stage in Trafalgar Square to present a specially commissioned tandem bicycle based on London’s iconic Barclays Cycle Hire scheme.
Addressing the crowds gathered in the Square to watch the wedding on a giant screen, Boris Johnson will also propose a toast and cut a wedding cake, donated by one of the many retailers making the most of London's big day in honour of the Royal couple.
In anticipation of the big day, the Mayor said: "I am delighted to have this amazing opportunity on behalf of London, to wish Prince William and Kate Middleton a long, prosperous and joyous life together.
“Tomorrow will be a momentous day in history and London is proud to host well wishers from all over the globe. It is only fitting that we thank the happy couple for shining such a glorious light on our capital with a bespoke gift. I look forward to seeing the newlyweds on tandem wheels as they start their new life in Anglesey."
