
The Environmental Law Foundation has announced that the Prince of Wales has agreed to assume the Presidency of the Environmental Law Foundation (ELF) with immediate effect
.
The move reflects the strong support of His Royal Highness for ELF’s unique national role in giving communities the knowledge and guidance to help them access and use the law to help protect their environment and quality of life.
It heralds a significant new chapter in the life of this rapidly evolving charity, now approaching its 20th year.
ELF Chair Stephen Tromans QC stated: “This welcome support from His Royal Highness comes at a time when the need to help people participate in environmental decisions has never been greater. This support boosts our determination to further assist communities in the protection of their environment and quality of life.”
HRH The Prince of Wales has consented to accept the Presidency for a fixed three year term. Outgoing President Martin Polden OBE will now serve as Vice President, alongside joint founder and fellow Vice President Diana Schumacher.
