Eco Environments is looking for a Commercial Business Development Manager - a proven sales person that can demonstrate their achievements in their B2B / Commercial sector. Whilst experience of renewable energy is a bonus, the ability to sell with passion and integrity are key, as Eco Environments is extremely customer focussed and put its customers at the centre of everything that it does. The successful applicant will be responsible for:

* Sales of Microgeneration renewable energy solutions in Solar PV, Solar Thermal, Wind Turbines and Air/Heat Pumps to commercial and construction customers - Training Provided.

* Site Surveying & Analysis - Training Provided.

* Lead Generation, pipeline management, networking, trade shows and seminars ect.

* Full use of internal 'Sales Force Automation' tools and processes, so IT literacy is essential, although training is provided.

You will be working closely with all departments to co-ordinate products / stores / pricing / marketing / sales etc. To be considered for this vacancy you must understand the Renewable Energy Markets and products and have very good commercial awareness and business development skills. It is also important that you are flexible and have good selling skills as you will need to demonstrate this within the HeadOffice and in front of customers when out and about. You will also need to have an advanced understanding of wholesale markets and end-to-end supply chain as well as being highly proficient in Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

The National Centre for Atmospheric Science is searching for a motivated and talented Research Scientist to carry out research to improve our understanding of the response of the global climate to reducing Arctic sea ice. You will perform and analyze climate model sensitivity experiments to determine the mechanisms that govern the climate response to reducing sea ice in the Arctic. This position is funded by the TEA-COSI project which is part of the NERC Arctic research programme and is based in NCAS-Climate in the Department of Meteorology.

You will have:

* A PhD (or are about to gain a PhD) in physical or mathematical science

* Strong scientific analytical ability, creativity and self-motivation

* Interest in climate and atmospheric science

* Competence in programming and data analysis

* Good communication skills, both written and oral

* Ability to maintain productive working relationships

* Research experience in climate modelling or atmospheric science would be an advantage.

DECC is looking to appoint a new Chair of the Committee on Climate Change (£1,000-a-day - up to 3 days per month in the first year, 2 days thereafter)
The Committee on Climate Change was created in 2008 as an expert body to provide independent advice to the UK Government and Devolved Administrations on tackling and preparing for climate change, including setting carbon budgets and monitoring progress made in meeting them.
The Committee is a high-profile non-departmental public body which has statutory responsibilities under the Climate Change Act 2008. It is the first body of its kind and brings together a range of world-class experts from the fields of climate science and policy, technology, energy production and supply, economics, business competitiveness and financial management among other related fields.
The Chair should provide strategic vision and leadership to the Committee’s work, you will represent the body externally and foster close working relationships with key experts, including academics, NGOs, business as well as foreign governments and intergovernmental institutions. With a track record of achieving results and providing intellectual leadership to a high-profile public organisation, you will have well-developed analytical skills as well as exceptional judgement and demonstrate a creative and pro-active approach to problem solving.
With responsibility for fulfilling the Committee’s functions as set out in the Climate Change Act, you will have the stature and capacity to provide independent and pragmatic advice to Ministers and the ability to facilitate effective decision-making – plus the credibility to liaise at the highest level. Good knowledge of the range of the Committee’s work and an understanding of applied economics and climate change policy is desirable.
