The search has started to find the North West's green grass-root champions and recognise their achievements in helping to deliver a low-carbon future.
The unique award programme, which can be found at www.nwgreenawards.com, is designed to reward both the citizens and enterprises of the region who are engaged with the environment and have made the switch from awareness to action.
The not-for-profit campaign is free to enter and will showcase the region's best-practice projects, the people, businesses and organisations that are making a real and effective difference.
Organisers say it's vital the region's success stories can be shared on one platform and are appealing for entries from across the North West, adding: “Whatever your position, the GrassRoots Awards allows you and your green efforts to take centre stage.
“Whether it’s your own green achievements or those of a friend or family member, your neighbour, colleague or place of work - if you know someone in the North West who is doing something extraordinary for the environment, fill in the entry form today.”
Organisers GreenWire News Agency, who also operate ClickGreen.org.uk, say the North West Green GrassRoots Awards provides the opportunity to recognise and reward the unsung champions that are making an extraordinary and effective difference to the environment.
Editorial director Stuart Qualtrough added: “This is all about rewarding the individuals and teams whose tireless efforts have had a demonstrable effect on reducing carbon use, promote the need for efficiency and sustainability and shorten the bridge between awareness and engagement.
“The event will culminate in two awards dinners at the end of November – it will be a perfect opportunity to recognise the hundreds of projects that are doing so well in the region.”
“Our focus on high editorial quality positions us perfectly between private and public sectors and the consumer/business market. Our objective insight enables us to steer an impartial and authoritative judging committee to deliver their verdict on the North West's low carbon best performers and innovators.”
