Play it for survival and sustenance! Create eco-friendly bathrooms!

Interestingly, in the process of going eco-friendly with your bathroom, certain vital factors matter and they are – usage of materials that have enormous sustenance and including technologies that help in water conservation, and of course, saving energy becomes equally important. Undeniably, they are the key to claim eco friendliness in your bathroom. The whole world has been repeatedly annealing the thought with clarion calls to save resources to go green; save the resources for the world and the future generation to survive healthily. Yet the ideas and views have been eschewed in oblivion.

It’s become highly imperative now, to give it a stint, finally.

Every individual wonders how to go about it. You can always start with your bathroom where there’s optimum usage of water.

There have been numerous programmes discussed and worked out at various forums, including the EPA that sets up guiding principles and strategies to conserve water. The principles determine the taps, faucets or shower heads with low water flow to be eco-friendly. Thus, one of the ideal ploys would be to incorporate taps, faucets, and toilets and shower heads that comply with the idea rationally. It’s a passive way of harvesting water for future use. Fixing of aerators to the faucets and shower heads can be a brilliant idea.

Furthermore, a dual flush toilet can be opted for, in lieu of the single flush type as it consumes over 11 litres of water in a single long flush, whereas the dual flush toilet consumes 3 litres in the first round and 6 litres in the second, with a short interval. So, in the entire day significant amount of water can be saved.

Conservation of energy is of paramount importance in the process, which can be achieved by replacing water heaters that have tanks, with the ones that are tankless. As a result, there would be a dramatic change in the consumption of energy, for the tankless gadget will consume only the required amount.

Also, fluorescent bulbs can be quintessential vis-a-vis to the incandescent ones. Less toxic paints like the LVOC (Low Volcanic Organic Compounds) can be used; further, fabrics that are natural can be preferred.

Modular BathroomFurniture, cabinets or vanities made from sustainable materials like wood certified by FSC (Forest Stewardship Council), can be opted for, while surfaces of stones of Icestone, or CeasarStone can be ideal. The recycled items are always the preferred ones when it comes to redecorating or remodelling the utilities and amenities in the bathroom. Counter tops are akin to vanity tops, and they can be of CeasarStone.

Some strategies can be applied to have good ventilation, in which case, vent fans can be a perfect option. They can mitigate the problems of mold or mildew and removing odour.Few more things that can be considered in additions to the ones mentioned above, which can be catalysts in having an eco-friendly bathroom.

Ideally, recycled glasses can be archetypal in having eco-friendly elements. For instance - Vetrazzo is a known name which has been made by man from recycled glasses.Linoleum or tiles are favourites choices for bathrooms, but even bamboo flooring can be a wonderful alternative. Suggestively, prefer fixtures that are recycled. Also, processes like recycling grey water can be adopted. This process enables one to process the waters after collecting from tubs, sinks, showers and so on, and further utilise them for irrigation purposes.

Succinctly, the above mentioned strategies have proved effective in the mission of going green or adopting eco-friendly methods, which is extremely important in the current sphere.
